    Merry Christmas Everyone!

I use TB's Edit Message As New function extensively to redistribute certain received messages. Since the upgrade to TB 2.0.0.9, re-addressed messages are often unable to be saved or sent. This happens often, but not always, with messages containing images either inserted into the message body or attached. I never experience the problem prior to the 2.0.0.9 upgrade.

When I try to save or send the message, one of these two error messages is displayed:

"Unable to save your message as draft. There was an error attaching. Please check if you have access to the file. "

    OR

"Unable to save your message as draft. Please verify that your Mail & Newsgroup settings are correct and try again. "

    Some other info to consider:

I regularly empty trash and compact folders. Sent messages that are retained are filed elsewhere and not retained in the Sent folder.

The only extension installed is Talkback 2.0.0.9

I have Norton NAV, Webroot Spy Sweeper and Webroot Windows Firewall installed. I have disabled all of these, individually and in combination, without eliminating the issue.

I use a POP mail server through my ISP (Earthlink), DSL connection. Secure connection is not selected (since the Earthlink server is secured). The outgoing server is smptauth.earthlink.net.

I have tried deleting all Sent.msf messages, restarting TB and compacting folders without impact. I have also backed-up the profile, deleted the Sent folders with .msf and no extension, restarted TB and sent a message to myself to re-create the Sent folder, but that didn't resolve things either.

If anyone has any ideas, I'm all ears! Thanks,

    Hi Bob,

    Merry Christmas to you, too.

I don't think your experience is new with TB 2.0.0.9, as I've experienced the same thing with earlier releases, as well.

Instead of using "Edit As New ", try using "Forward ". You can still use the same editing features, and you can delete as much of the original header information as you wish. This is particularly helpful when deleting CC:s, as now you can delete them in a block, rather than one-by-one as was required with "Edit As New ".

    Jim & Westside:

Thanks for the feedback. I had always set my composition options to forward messages "as attachment" rather than "inline ". I see now that if I use "inline" and Forward, I can delete or modify the prior header and addressees, edit the message if I wish, remove the "Fwd:" from the subject. and send the message "clean ", just as the result would have been using "Edit Message As New ". It also appears that any attachments to the original message are carried forward as attachments to the Forwarded message.

So, forwarding a message inline seems to address my issues. That leaves me with the question of why provide the "Edit Message As New" to begin with? Or if it's going to be provided, why not correct the problem that you've also seen in prior versions? Has it been reported as a bug?

    Thanks again.
