I have IE7 running on Windows XP Media Center Edition ver 2005. When I select Tools>Delete Browsing History or Internet Options>Browsing History>Delete, the computer has no response. I opened Windows Task Manager>Applications and there is nothing running to indicate that IE7 responded. I try to clear all history, cookies, and temporary files every couple or three weeks and this function worked the last time I used it. Can anyone suggest why it is not launching now? Virus?

And you checked the history and it's still there?

Setting the History to -0- days will probably clear it...Could then set it back to where it was.

Thanks Steve. Your recommended approach didn't work on this one, but I appreciate the suggestion. What I did find to get back on track was to restore to an earlier point. I chose a point before the last Windows update. After restarting, Windows updates needed to be installed again. I successfully cleared all history, then re-installed the updates. It appears that I am back operating normally. I noticed that one of the 9 updates was one for Internet Explorer. I wonder if that one failed to install correctly? I'll know more after I gather some history and try to clear it normally in a day or two. For now, though, I think it's fixed.
Thanks again for the rapid response and help.
