Hello all, this has probably been asked and answered many times and if so I do apologize, but here goes. My wife has or I should say had an old Dell 4100 that she bought new. It came with Windows ME installed, probably the worst OS known to man. I eventually bought and installed XP Home SP2 upgrade and it has run nearly flawlessly since. 'Til now. It has come to it's demise and I have started to build her a new machine. My question is: can I use this XP cd to install on this new system? I have the Windows ME disk. I really do not want to have to buy a new XP Home and she will not use Ubuntu 7.10. Thanks for any replies and best regards, Frank

    Hello russarkie,

From what you wrote, you have a retail copy of XP.

You can install a Retail version of XP on as many computers as you wish as long as the OS is unistalled on the current system. You can transfer from Computer to Computer but it cannot be installed on 2 machines at the same time.
