Hi Guys, anyone been able to get the buttons on IE7 to a reasonable size? The ones I want "“ Stop and Refresh "“ are just too small to be practical. I’d also like the Back/Forward buttons to be bigger, and I want to remove the Search bar but can’t find a way to even disable it. The Home page also won’t change from a Microsoft page, even thought I’ve set it several times to about/blank, in both the old way and the new IE7 way. It has not had net access yet so will this one stick after it has been allowed to connect to Microsoft once?

All silly questions I know, but it’s wasting time trying to sort out such basic issues that really winds me up and saps my will to live. What should have been 5 mins is now half a morning when I've got better things to do.

    Hi McTavish
Right click on a blank area of the Command Bar - to the left of the Home icon and select 'Use Large Icons'.

To hide the Search box see here .....

    Hi McTavish,

    If it doesn't, there's a fix - script from this site: http://www.enhanceie.com/ie/troubleshoot.asp

    That's a great site for IE7 BTW.

EDIT: Hi Pete, I'm a little slow this morning :)

Thanks Pete, Charles, you got one each. Just button size now left to cure. Your suggestion Pete only makes the back/forward buttons slightly larger, but does nothing for the Refresh and Stop buttons. I’ll have a good look round that site when I get the time. I should have just asked you guys first before I wasted time and got myself all wound up about it. Is it possible to install IE6 in Vista? That would solve all this nonsense.

Echo Zanders comment in XP, but I will check my Vista box too. What resolution are you running? 1600 x 1200 here.
    No

Strangely, in Vista the Refresh & Stop icons do not change size - go figure :)

On three machines, 1280x1024, - 1280x800 - 1680x1050, all Vista, the buttons don’t change size at all. They do re-position slightly as the other buttons change, but no difference in size, at least nothing discernable to my eye. I want them to be 400-500% bigger and on the command bar with the rest of the buttons. I wonder who the pratt was who thought that making them microscopic and off to the side was a good idea? With the search bar removed the Stop button is directly under the IE close button. Two crosses right next to each other.

Sigh, I’m getting worked up again. Time to call it a day.

Cheers guys. I won’t go back to this for a while as I know I’ll just get worked up again. I’m thinking now if I have to spend so much time learning a new browser then I may as well make it one that doesn’t wind me up just looking at it. I can see now why so many people have moved to Firefox.

    Calm, Calm, Ooommmmm.
