Does anyone out there know of a good {FREE}ROOTKIT Program and/or Scanning site? I have been using F-Secure and happy with it.

With me being mostly a Scots Man and therefore quite cheap. F-Secure's Beta is no longer Free . All I need is one that will check for those BACK DOOR and alert me to them and/or maybe remove them? This is for my XP Home edition. Thank loonychoons

P.S. Yah I know that I am not asking for much ????? HA HA HA

    Hi, loonychoons. :)
I just downloaded F-Secure's BlackLight Rootkit Detection and Elimination Tool from this link and ran the program. Appears BlackLight is no longer in beta but it is still free. :)

Scroll down toward the end of that page to the "Downloads" section for the fsbl.exe download link.

    Thanks Mailman.

Well that is really good news. I had been using F-Secure for years and thought it was no longer Free.

I am on a fixed income so I try to use the freebies for protection on my computer. However they got a lot of "+and/or-" feedback from me after they launched their first ROOT KIT scanner and remover.

I am now using the PANDA Antirootkit, But as suggested by the LINK from Wiskeyman I will now use those two. The Panda & F-Secure.

    Thank you Mailman. loonychoons
