I can not disconnect the drive. It states "disconnected" and will not let me disconnect or unconnect it so i can re connect it, i have a program that needs it to be connected even if you can access it through explore.... i have tried scripts to remove them and the only thing that works is a reboot. any thoughts on what causes this?

This happens to many PC's i have contact with; XP Home, Pro, domain workstations. I have seen it everywhere. I just found this link (http://tinyurl.com/2eu33y) Follow the directions to disable fast logon. It might work

    hmmm

I am not sure about that but it is good info. I changed the dns to only point to the server and checked the setting to use register the dns name and it reconnected all the drives over night... If that does not continue to wrk i will try your solution,

    Thanks man,

    still no fix

the dns did not fix it, the solution you posted was already in place and from what i ready, DC by default at that way. I read some stuff on possiable it being a corupted profile or symantic issue... i will update later
