I have tried to install Adobe Flash Player 9 in Windows XP. It will not install even after I have tried every idea from Adobe & Microsoft. Unistalled all traces of older versions, closed all browsers, etc. Any ideas??

    Two things to check:

You must be logged in with administrator privileges. If not, the installation will not complete.

Are you running Internet Explorer with dropped privileges (DropMyRights)? If so, run IE with full admin privileges.

How do I check IE7 to see if I am running full privileges?

How do I check IE7 to see if I am running full privileges? I am logged on as administrator, but not sure about full privilages.

Logged into Windows as administrator means that you have full privileges.

"DropMyRights" is an add-on which lets you run programs (such as Internet Explorer) with limited privileges but still logged into Windows as administrator. It seems like you don't know what DMR is so let's forget about that. (My reason for asking about DMR was that I myself tried to install Flash Player but wasn't successful running under DMR.)

Sorry but I don't use IE7 and don't know if anything in it might prevent the installation of Flash Player. Someone else will have to take over ... ... !
