Install OEM XP from old laptop on to new desktop

    I am considering buying a Dell desktop that only comes w/Vista and in case I don't like it, could I install the OEM copy of XP that came with my old Dell laptop?

    No, you can not do that and for two reasons:

    1) It would be a violation of the OEM license agreement.

    2) It would probably not work since OEM installations are hardware dependent.
