I'm not sure exacly when but my perfectly functioning network recently decidied to become a troubled one. What the cause could be I have no idea..............
I have the usual issue...One Way Access. Desktop sees Laptop and can access it's files but Laptop can't see Desktop and says "network path not found ". I discovered the problem when I tried print from my laptop to the network printer attached to my desktop. I have always been able to resolve these issues in the past but for some reason I can't do it this time.

    My Config:
    Desktop - Win XP SP2
    Laptop- Win XP home
DSL modem to Linksys Router-DHCP mode
Both wired directly to router- usually laptop is wireless but for troubleshhoting purposes it is currently wired.
No firewalls on, Net bios enabled over TCP/IP
    TCP/IP set on auto detect
    File and printer sharing on
    Same workgroup name
"Computer connects directly to internet or through a network hub" setting

    Any suggestions?

What are you running for Anti Virus on the Desktop?

Also just for kicks and giggles try connecting to the desktop by IP.

I have Symantec AntiVirus 2006 Full Version 10.1.6.6000
I forgot I recently installed it. I'm not very familiar with it.

I tried accessing through IP but no luck
