    Hello can you help me with the following:

    When I click on "epaper" I get the message "enable MS ActiveX control ". Pls can any one help me to Activate this? This machine is part of a net work. Is it something that can be done only by the admin of the net work?

    the IE version is: 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr_050301

    thanks

    In Internet Explorer, go Tools>Internet Options>Security tab, click on "Custom level" button.
    Your ActiveX, should be set, as follows:

    D=disable
    E=enable
    P=prompt

    D,D,D,E,D,P,D,D,E,E

    Enabling ActiveX in IE 6

    Hai Broni,
    Let me thank you for your kindness to respond to my poating.
    I tried to go thro the process you advised. Under "internet options" in my IE i have 4 tabs: general, privacy, content & connection.

    Under privacy i have 4 tabs:
    sites, import, advanced and default.

    "advanced" is about cookies.
    "default ": when u click this security setting slide appears. It is set @medium now.

    Other than this i do not come across any tab which allow me to select the custom level and enable it to "E "

    Thanks Broni.

    There is something wrong with your IE6.
    Those tabs should look like this:

    I suspect that users have been (wisely) locked out of that option plus a few others by the admin.

    Screenshot shows the tabs in the standard Internet options dialogue.

    Enabling ActiveX in IE 6

    Hai Pete,
    Thanks pete. I think what you said is correct. Is there any way we can circuvent this. Is it possible to load the IE on to our external hard drive and browse Internet with that browser rather than company's built in browser?

    thanks

    with regrads

    I would think that highly unlikely - IE is an integral part of Windows and not a standalone browser.

    You might have success with Firefox, but I'm not at all sure that we should be helping you to circumvent the restrictions imposed by your network administrator :)

    I take it that 'epaper' is a completely legit work oriented 'thing' - not familiar with that term (electronic newspaper?) and, if that is the case no doubt admin would oblige.

    Once again thanks, pete.
    You gussed right. epaper is electronic news paper. It is exact replica of the printed paper.

    thanks once again.

    with regards
