Did the format of BBS change or is it my computer?

    Hi all!

I'm curious to know if the format of this BBS has changed recently? I now notice that when I go (click on) to read a thread, it sort of fades to the thread (vs. popping up). And when I hit the back button it does the same thing. (fades vs. popping)

Also I used to be able to "preview" a thread (when I would hover my mouse over the title of the thread, it would show part of the thread without actually having to click on it to view the whole thing). But it no longer does that?? (And I sort of miss that!)

Sorry if I somehow missed any news on there being any changes made (if that's what happened)! Unless there's something buggy with my computer?? (But I don't notice it on any other websites I visit?)

Is there any setting that I need to change in my profile? Or on my computer? Or is this the normal now for this BBS?

    Thanks everyone!
    Vicki

Yes, I made some changes... didn't announce anything about them though, they're just some small changes that impact users.

I see what I can do about the thread preview feature.

    Thank you, Arie!

At least now I feel a little more relieved knowing it wasn't something I did or something acting up on my computer!

I guess I was a little surprised that I hadn't read about anyone else noticing these changes (and that's what made me think it might have been my computer!)

Appreciate everything that everyone contributes to this wonderful website!

    Have a great day!

    Hi Arie,
I've noticed recently that some messages are wider than my 4:3 screen and don't wrap to fit. Would be nice if they would fit any screen.

I've seen one, and it was caused by the "edited by" message... If you have examples please post the URL here, so I can have a look.

    Hi Arie,
I use 800x600 and almost all the mesages manage to fit well within my seamonkey browser window, even when I enlarge the text, as shown below. Not all the problems occur with HJT logs. Will watch for another, but will take a while i'm sure.

Yes, well, I am allowing more characters before automatic text wrapping. There's less then 5% of WindowsBBS visitors using 800x600, so I guess I'm saying that you'll have to learn to live with it in certain posts. This only happens when there are xx number of characters without space.

The reason for the increase is that registry keys will not be 'broken' by the automatic text wrapping (which inserts a space into long words to make them wrap after a certain number of characters).
