Can a DVI cable & RGB cable go into the same monitor and from the same card? If so, which one would have priority?

The reason i ask this, is because when i just have the DVI cable attached, and i start PC, the screen scrolls. The monitor does not have anything to stop the scrolling. Therefore, is there anything in the bios which would stop this scrolling?

The Monitor is an Microscan L912 (LCD) - (RGB/DVI-I)
Gfx Card is an Leadtek GF3 TDH (Winfast) - (RGB/DVI-I)
    Op System is XP Pro
DVI Cable M-M (the right cable for the DVI connection on Mon/Gfx)

I have been unable to find anything of any use regarding this. The only thing that could be useful is something about EID. EID is the ID which is read when the PC starts as regards to the monitor.

    I appreciate your help.
    Thanks!!

Only one cable should be connected.

I get the feeling that there is a setting - (refresh rates) or something that is out of range for your flat panel LCD. - check the manuals for optimal or settings restrictions.

What happens in safe mode? And what resolution are you trying to run. - Has it ever worked?

    I have tried 1280x1024 & 1024x768. 1280x1024 setting is the max @ 60.

It still scrolls at settings lower than above but if they did work at these then the gfx would look rather crappy at those res's. It is the same for safe mode.

The only time it stopped scrolling was when i tried beta gfx drivers, it stopped scrolling at the login stage. Once logged in i got slight interference on the screen

When i updated the drivers to the proper versions (non beta) it went back to scrolling throughout.
