    Well,,,,

I didn't know I had to install the IE extension. Is that something I would get from the FF site as I did with some other items? Now I'm really feeling stupid.

And Ramona, I looked and looked and don't see any FF icon at all in the lower right hand corner.

I went to the FF site and after MUCH searching I found the extension for IE. I downloaded and installed it. I now have an icon for the IE Tab on my toolbar.

That's as far as I can get. I've right, center and left clicked and still do not see a window for IE.

One time I thought things looked different and copied that original music link in. Got no sound.

And for some reason I now can see a FF icon in the lower right side of screen. It wasn't there before?

    Pat ...

Extensions always have to be installed. Use the IE Tab link in my post #13 in this thread.

    I don't have one, either.

    Jim,

See my last post, #22. I did all that but that's as far as I can get.

I re-read your # 13 post and that didn't tell me how to function after I finally got the extension on my toolbar.

Sorry if I'm driving you nuts.

    Hi Pat,

Referring to your post #22, I see that you're expecting the page to open in a new IE window, but that's not what IE Tab does ... it opens the page, using IE, in a FF tab, which is why you weren't seeing a separate IE window.

In the IE Tab options, you can set it to open the page, in IE, in a new FF tab. If you don't select that option, it will open in the same FF tab.

I did learn why Ramona reported a FF icon in the status bar, though, and why you and I didn't have one. It's one of the IE Tab options (screenshot). Having tried it, I don't want it ... I prefer using the icon on the toolbar.

I did not make any changes to the settings which were given to me. The General settings have a box to Focus on.. checked. I enter the desired URL and click on the icon, and it will change to the IE engine. The external applications tab of the
IE Tab options tells all. It is a very user-friendly add-on.

Well, darn!! I finally figured it out. It took some doing since anything I am not familiar with simply blows my mind.

I clicked on the web site from the original email. Then once there, I clicked on the IE extension. Low and behold I had music.

That's why I really hate to ask for help. I am rather dense and need step by step instructions or it goes over my head. Usually if I experiment too much I mess other things up.

Sorry this turned into a lengthy problem for you folks.

    Thanks for all the help.

IMO, it doesn't tell you anything at all, as it doesn't have a help link ... it merely gives you the option of using IE Tab to open the page in a browser other than IE. I use Maxthon 2, which uses the IE engine, but has a better display. Whether it would work with a non-IE based browser (like Opera), I can't say, as I don't have one installed.

At least you got it, never mind how. Next the fonts. Let us know about that one.

It is pretty obvious to me. I did nothing at all, and it show a certain preset path:
, which you can change (browse). The important thing is that certain pages will not display well because they were created with IE in mind. IE-based programs should work, but other programs should not. So, I am not going to waste my time, especially when it is a rare occurrence.
Anyway, I checked Opera9.2.3, and it works there with no manipulations.
