When one of our server reboots, it detects an ultrium tape drive and asks for the drivers.

I can click on cancel and it goes away until the next reboot (automatically done each day).

We use 3rd party drivers and don't want to install through windows, is there any way I can prevent the detection from happening?

    Thanks

Can't you go into Device Manager, find an associated yellow question mark and set the device to Disabled? I have a modem in one of my boxes whose driver often causes crashes. So I keep the device disabled until the rare occasion that my cable goes out and I have to use it. Can you do something like that?

    Thanks for the reply,

I tried disabling but on reboot it just redetected and tried to install.

It doesnt matter too much, I have to visit the server everyday anyway, but I like to keep things tidy and automated
