The copy is donloaded from the microsoft web sit ,Why is it illegality!here is the address :
    http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/64bit/facts/trial.mspx

Thank you for your interest in evaluating Windows XP Professional x64 Edition. This trial software allows you to evaluate the product for 120 days. Register to order a CD or to download the trial software.

    Download the trial
The Windows XP Professional x64 Edition trial software download is available at no charge. After you have completed the download registration process, you will receive an e-mail message with a link to the download page. The download page will include the download file and a product key for the trial software. The file will be in ISO format and must be burned to a CD or DVD before you can install the software on your computer.

The download file is large—over 550 megabytes (MB)—so the download may take considerable time to complete. We recommend downloading the trial software only if you have broadband, ADSL, or other high-speed Internet connections.

Note: If you choose to register to download the software, you will not receive the product CD.

blackgen - Apologies for the frosty welcome - a minor hiccup. We are very hot on software legality on the Board.

I think you will find it extremely difficult if not impossible to load your trial from the hard drive. Even though the contents of the ISO image may be seen and extracted to your hard drive you will be unable to boot from the drive - it is already booted.

Your only solution is to order the CD if it is still available or persuade a friend or colleague with a burner to download it for you and create a bootable CD from the ISO file.

However I think you would be well advised to forget the whole project - drivers for XP x64 are scarcer than hen's teeth and it is an OS to be avoided. Unless you intend to run programs specifically written in 64 bit - equally scarce - you will see no change and no advantage over XP 32 bit. I assume your computer has a 64 bit processor?
