Hi I have a vaio laptop and on ever restart the cdrom/rw player loads up as "new hardware" found.
It then proceeds to tell me that it loaded incorrectely and might not work.
In viewing the device manager it states that the cdrom has no problems.

How do I install it for once and for all

    Thanks
    Dan

    Really doesn't mean a thing :)

In Device Manager uninstall/remove the CD-ROM drive and reboot. Windows will detect it on boot and reload. See if that solves the problem.

    No afraid not.
everytime the computers boots into windows, the " found new hardware" balloon comes up.
when I ask it to search for drivers, it does, but then says " it can't load them.

    Hi Danny H,
I can't be certain this method will work but while I was doing a search on your situation, I came across info at another forum that the owner un-plugged his CD-Rom, downloaded the drivers for it and plugged it back in and all was okay afterwards...
