I have a NC6000 with the HP WLAN 802.11a/b/b W500 card. At home, I have a Netgear(forgot the model at the moment) wireless router. My NC6000 will connect to the router and even get a very good signal, but will eventually disconnect. On the systray, it will show that the card has an X, like it was disabled. Eventually it will reconnected and after a few minutes(if i'm luckly) disconnect again. I had another laptop right next to it on the same wireless network and it worked perfectly fine.

    Any thoughts? I'm baffled.

I think this looks like dodgy card or drivers. If it was a setting, I'd expect you not to be able to connect at all. If a signal problem, I wouldn't expect the card to appear as disabled when the signal dropped or caused a disconnect.

Simplest place to start is a hunt for updated drivers.
