My windows XP service pack 2 crashed a few weeks ago and I had to reinstall (using the repair function) now I keep getting the following error.

jusched.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for
    the inconvenience.

I have tried to uninstall and get a fatal error. I have tried to reinstall and it just tells me that it is already installed and do I want to reinstall - if I say yes it still doesn't fix the error?? Is it a setting in my internet explorer. I have done all critical updates and all others recomended from the windows update page!!

HELP I need java for alot of applications!

When I went to the site

    Thanks charles

When I went to that site -
I did see the process running in the task manager
But I didn't see java in the control panels to make the additional changes
    ??

    Hi Tracy,
Click on the java icon in the clock area with a left click or a right click - forgot which, to open the java console. And if not there, look in All Programs for java and click on that.

    Hi Tracy,

You may need to switch to Classic view in XP's control panel to see the java icon there.

If not: open Java Web Start, either the icon on your desk top or in your programs folder: C:\Program Files.

    Click "File" then "Preferences "

    Click the "Advanced" tab

Select "Show Java Console" and click OK

    Hi Tracy,

    Delete the Scheduled Task.

Forget about any auto updating of java for the time being, the important issue here is whether the error message you got is absent and that you can use java. Update it manually using the java console, the auto update is once a month anyway.

In the meantime, I'll look for other solutions for the problem with jusched.exe

Otherwise, given what you wrote about uninstalling/reinstalling java, you would I think have to reinstall windows from scratch.

Well, you already did a repair. This problem is with java specifically - not windows.

The reason for reinstalling would be to clear all files and start anew with download/install of java, if that's your only problem - you did mention a "crash ".

Up to you, but I don't think worth messing with windows over a once a month auto update issue as long as java itself works.

Of course, there are always pleasant supprises and may work :D

    Happy Thanksgivig Tracy :)
