Spybot 1.5 slow to start

Hello,
When I click on the Spybot icon to get into the program, it takes a good 60 seconds to load -- and at first I notice the floppy drive lights up. Anyone have any ideas why so slow?

Jeena: I don't have an explanation or a solution, but you have lots of company. I'm having the same problem with slow loading (although mine takes "just" 43 seconds), and while it's loading it appears to be going through a POST procedure, checking the floppy drive and beeping like yours does. Last night I Googled the issue and the Spybot forum showed several people with the same slow loading problem.

My Spybot has another oddity. That panel over on the left side is supposed to be gray. Mine is white. And the icons in it don't have any labels like they should. Does yours display that way, too? My wife's laptop has the same Spybot 1.5 version, and hers doesn't have that problem. But her Spybot takes a long time to load, too.

Maybe someone else here has a solution for us. Stay tuned.
