i just installed the dell support center upgrade and now every time i start windows XP SP2 i have the folder appear that is c:\program files\dell\systemprofiler

i remember having a similar problem like this years ago but i can't remember how to fix it. I searched the registry for a runonce command that might not have been deleted but i can not find anything related to this Dell folder.

Thanks in advance for advise on how to stop it from appearing.

I found a similiar thread on another board.

    http://windowsxp.mvps.org/dellfolder.htm

Apparently, there are two dell startup programs running and during the install the second one was not formatted correctly in the registry.

You need to have double quotes around the line "c:\program files\dell\support.exe" /blah blah blah

    Once i went to:
    current user/software/microsoft/windows/currentversion/run

    and

    local machine/software/microsoft/windows/currentversion/run

    This solved the problem
