    Hi all

After installing windows over the old install to fix my scanner problem
( scanner and twain) I went back to the windows update site to get the updates that where overridden by the new install. The new install also put me back on IE 6.0
it found 83 updates, including IE 7.0 and downloaded them and then tried to install them.
I get an error telling me that all installs failed and that something on my computer is preventing the install.

I have no idea where to look to change the setting to let windows install it.

    Any one

    Sven

    PeteC,

    Thank you for your help
Like all the other people in that post, it was #2 that did the job.
Something is going wrong when you install XP over an existing install.

    Thanks again
    Sven

I see its all wrappred up by FYI update problems is one thing that microsoft will give you free support on. If updates won't install you can follow some links the update web page for support.
