When to up the RAM?

    Hey all, I have a Compaq with 512K RAM. 2-256K sticks. Two slots open.
    When I looked at my performance screen it said commit of 386M. I have no clue what that is..:eek:
    I have looking at 1-2 gig of RAM to add. It is DDR PC3200. Do I need pairs?
