It will help to know what operating system you are using as well as the version of IE.

Also a copy of the link here so we can test the parts that are causing you problems.

Open My Computer, View, Folder Options, File Types.
Click URL:File Transfer Protocol and then Edit. In the Actions box, click on Open and then Edit.

If the path in the application used to perform the action is a short file name (for example, Progra~1 instead of Program Files), then replace it with the full path (in quotation marks).
    For example: "c:\program files\internet explorer\iexplore.exe "

    Click OK and then Close.

Repeat this for these file types, too:
    URL:Gopher Protocol
    URL:Hypertext Transfer Protocol
    URL:Hypertext Transfer Protocol with privacy
    Click Close.

Then be sure urlmon.dll is registered by going to Start--> Run and typing: regsvr32 urlmon.dll

    Good luck.

Just going to Run--> regsvr32 urlmom.dll worked for another poster. You might try that before trying my more complicated idea.

Sorry. That should be "urlmon.dll" and not "urlmom.dll ".
