I have an old Sound blaster 518 on pentium2 350mhz.
128 mb ramm 40gig HD Hp 825 printer hooked into usb port. Runnig Win 98.
Now the problem is with my Sound Card it works but the volume
slide keeps returnig to zero. I drag it up with my mouse, I can hear my speakers as soon as I let go it slides down to zero.
Ive up dated drivers and tried the slide bar in windows and it does the samething. Spooky, but also frustrating.
    Any thoughts?

    Thanks
    aziefel:rolleyes:

I have not been able to find a Sound Blaster 518 card-are you sure of that model number?

    volume control keeps sliding down

I am having the exact same problem and have no idea how to correct. I recently upgraded from Win 98 to Win 2000 Professional. Before I upgraded, this wasn't a problem. I have ESS Maestro2E PCI Audio Drive (WDM).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
