    Hi,

I have two XP Pro SP2 pc's on a network.

I can access PC2 from PC1 and see all the files on it. However i cannot see files on PC1 from PC2.

Both computers have identical user names, passwords and account types set (admin) Both have the guest account on.

PC2 has a pasword protected guest account - i cant remember how i set this.

I have had to disable the windows firewall on PC1 to get a ping back sent from PC2. I do i set the IP of PC2 as trusted on PC1?

If the guest account on PC1 is on and i try to access it from PC2 i get the message "[PC1] is not accessible. you might not have permission to view the network resource [etc] Logon Failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer "

If the guest account on PC1 os off and i try to access it from PC2 i get a logon window with a greyed out user name "[PC1]/Guest" and am prompted to input a password, none i try work.

It seams to make no difference if PC2 guest account is on or off.

Can anybody advise what may be going on?

    THanks,
    Stuart

    Hi,

Had a stupid moment, i had not noticed that none of the drives on PC1 were shared which was causing the issue.

    Thanks anyway,
    Stuart
