    Hi,
I have been using TweakUI for a while and have never had problems before, but suddenly the LOGON option doesn't work anymore. I have it set to auto logon with a particular ID, but at reboot time it always stops now at the login screen (always bypassed it before). What might be wrong? Why does TweakUI not auto-logon anymore?

    Thanks,

Try disabling the auto logon in tweakui. Reboot. Re-enable it and test.

Well, I tried disabling, rebooting and reenabling tweakui, but it still stops at the logon screen again. I also tried deleting the *.pwl file (password file) and rebooting after entering NO password, but again it stops at the logon screen. I also tried a number of other suggestions in the links you sent in the above message, but nothing seems to work. I always stop at the login screen even though I never entered a password. Any other suggestions as to why I can't bypass it?

    Thanks,

Did you look to make sure "Clear last user at logon" on the Paranoia tab was still checked?

I had the same problem until I finally checked that setting and it was no longer enabled. Windows does love to reset things at random. Must be a "feature." ;)

    Miz,

Tried that too, but it still stops at the logon screen prompting for a pwd. Very strange. Nothing seems to get rid of this screen.

Hve you actually looked at the registry key to see if it exists (HKLM\Software\MS\Windows\CV\Winlogon\AutoAdminLogon, DefaultUserName and DefaultPassword)

    logon

Well, I tried unchecking the auto logon in Tweakui then making sure the default login and password (null) values existed in the registry which they did, and after rebooting it finally bypassed the logon screen. not sure why it hadn't worked before, guess I had to makre the changes in a certain order, silly. in any event it now works. Thanks all.
