    Hello Everyone,

I have a problem in Mozilla Thunderbird Email client, recently due to mail exceeding over limit in gmail i have started downloading the mails. It was working fine. Luck was not with me, after sometime i surprised i couldn't find any mail under my local folder like before. No mails found in Local Folder of Thunderbird Email Client. But i can see the 2 GB File INBOX in the HDD. But cannot see in Mozilla Email Client. I just need to retrieve the mails.

I have tried a lot but cannot retrieve.

Looking for your technical help soon.

    -Thanks & Regards,
    Shiraz.

2 GB in the Inbox is suicidal. The Inbox is made to receive mail, not to store it. Eventually, everything comes to a grinding halt.
I am a little confused by the statement that you see 2GB on the hard drive, but not in the Mozilla mail client. Are we talking about Mozilla or Thunderbird?
If it is Thunderbird, the path is, in Win2k and XP, C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Application Data\Thunderbird\Profiles. In Mozilla:
    C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles
In either case these folders are hidden. The path is different for Vista.
Another problem is that during the installation, the Global Settings was, probably checked, sending all mail to Local Folders. I have, at least, six POP accounts, and it would be mess that way.
Mail should be, periodically, divided into subfolders, for storage only.
Also, the folders should be compacted to remove deleted mail which is still associated with the Inbox.
At this point, I suggest that you rename, in the profile|....\Mail|account location, the Inbox to Oldinbox, delete the Inbox.msf file, with TB closed.
Then reopen it. You will see an Inbox with recent mail only.
If you are lucky, you will slowly see the Oldinbox content.
However, I have no experience with situations like yours. I freak out if my Inbox exceeds 2 MB!
