A long time ago, I learned that I could "thread' my email in Outlook by combining the sent and received email from the same person in one sub-folder. I had the View sort based upon subject.

On some sub-folders, the sorting will use Re; and Re:Re: etc as a subject. On others, the sort "sees" beyond that to the real subject. That is what i want. I have looked at both at the same time, on two different computers sitting side by side. I see absolutely no difference in the Current View settings.

    What can I do?

Can't say that I ever noticed that even Outlook Express ignors RE: and Fwd: at the beginning....

Is it only the RE:RE: mails that are causing problems?

    Hi, thanks.

No, it is Re;, Re:Re, and FW., or any other first typed character, e.g., ", if one needs to use quotations.
