Recently I downloaded photos to my computer and placed them in my pictures folder. Now they are also located in display properties.
How do I delete them from display and keep them in my pictures?

As long as they are in the My Pictures main folder, they'll be included in the list of desktop backgrounds.

Make a subfolder in My Pictures, name it anything but "My Pictures" and move the ones you don't want in the list into that folder.

You can, of course, just make another folder in your Documents folder and move them into it.
