    hi Forum members,
Just successfully performed a standard sytem restore on my 2001 build Packard Bell computer, after the C Drive developed multi errors. Straight after doing this I tried to restore my 20 Gb backup file from my slave drive. This file was successfully made in Sept. '07, using advanced mode of Windows Backup.
This message came up: The backup file contains unrecognised data and cannot be used. Do I need to install SP2 and Mcroosoft updates first or anything else? I understood you installed backup straight after installing Windows. This is the first time of using Windows Backup, so I am a novice at this. Any help welcomed. Thank you in advance.
    Regards onefinger.
I have OEM Windows XP Home.

    Windows Backup successful.

Just to let everyone know this one is solved now. I found out you need Service Pack 2 installed in XP for the Backup File to be recognised. I hope this helps anyone with older computers like mine. Thank you.
    Regards onefinger :)
This one can be closed now thank you.
