Hi there. :) My most recent "extension and theme rampage" for Firefox (version 2.0.0.8 if it's any use) has left my status bar along the bottom of the window quite crowded. Is there a way to add another one or customize the icons in it, like a toolbar?

Thanks very much, any help is appreciated.

My previous reply disappeared. In it, I had suggested that, beside using moderation, you would try to place some icon in the Mail toolbar. I would hate to have everything at the bottom, although I have too much at the top.
Also, there is an add new toolbar in View|Toolbars|Customize

  3. to hide this advert.

thanks. i tried your suggestion, it seems that the statusbar icons are not interchangeable with toolbar buttons. the moderation idea is valid, but i'm not one for moderation.
is there maybe some about:config hack that will manipulate the statusbar?

I have just finished a battle with the new Navigator9.0.0.1, and one of the problem was that it was putting buttons in unexpected places. It may not work for you, but it worked for me. Originally, it had placed a button in the Address bar, to the left of the URL area, but I wanted the button in the Main toolbar, so I dragged and dropped in the Main toolbar. Next, I noticed that the URL area had come along for the ride, making the Address bar totally ridiculous with the Search bar taking 80% of the space. Finally, I dragged back the URL bar.
So, from Customize, see if you can drag and drop the icon in a new toolbar, and watch out for unwanted moves. It may work.

I am using Seamonkey1.1.4. Beside the usual one to the left, and the online and security icons, I see the Yahoo Notifier envelope, and the stuff from Forecastfox, which takes most of the status line. I have the day, the temp. and the icon. With Firefox, I have the Fasterfox icon, which there mainly to give me an idea of the length to load a page.

    Thanks Westside.
For SM 1.1.5 - I have pretty much the same thing, without the ones added by extensions:
Yahoomail - Forecastfox - Fasterfox icon etc...

In FF 2.0.0.6 = IETAB icon (extension)- secutiry Icon (if applicable) - NO OFFLINE ICON by default - must be added via extensions -
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/493
    like most things......

I was curious what the OP had ?

    Thanks for the screenshot....
Sorry I can be of no help - No idea what theme you are using .
Entirely to many "add ons" for my taste....

Strongly suspect that all the icons are the results of various "add ons" but no idea how to suppress them.

    it's a halloween theme :D
also, i desire not to suppress them, but rather spread them out over 2 (possibly 3) statusbars.
i know it's a lot of extensions, but i fewquently use most of them.

    Greg,

If you can't drag and drop the icons in the Status Bar to a new Toolbar, then I think you are stuck with what you have.

    Greg,

This add-on looks interesting, and may be exactly what you need:

    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1318

Switch between multiple statusbars with different content. Customize your statusbars icon, name and arrange the icons the way you want...
