Windows Vista Vista Basic on the freak

Well I have only had this laptop about three weeks now I have had a couple of instances of freakyness like the other day when I came home I noticed the time was three hours off. So after looking at the settings it had changed to Pacific time. I am in the Eastern time zone. Today I noticed it wouldn't sleep so I checked the settings and it changed to never sleep.
curious to see what happens next.

Something appears to be rattling around in or rummaging through your registry.

First thing I think of is encryption for a wireless network. Got a geeky kid next door? Are you using a high level?

Malware, try two different types of antispyware (but not running together in the background, for example, Spybot, but without Teatimer or Innoculation installed), also check for trojans.

A legitimate background program? Maybe one that has gone a little "berserk ". Are the programs you have installed been made for Vista (it/they may need to run in compatibility mode)?

Thanks Matt, but just a few bad cookies but no real malware. I got some milk to dip them in. I love to eat them cookies!
