I'm a member of several forums where videos are often posted - usually linked from youtube . Most of the time , when viewing these videos they stop and start and it's annoying enough that I just stop watching them . This has also happened when trying to view news clips on one of the larger network websites . But curiously enough , this morning I clicked on an article on my home page (yahoo) and a vid came up that ran fine . This only occurs on my laptop which runs Vista and is wirelessly connected but not on my Dell which runs XP and is not wireless. Thanks for reading !

    Hi JetstreamJim,
You have 1GB on memory? Would add another GB if you can. Video clips use lots and vista is already using about 3/4 GB (including the onboard video) just doing nothing. Check memory use with task manager performance tab. Sounds like you're machine is doing lots of page swapping.

Thanks Sparrow ! It did have a gig but now a gig and ahalf . Are you saying to do this while attempting to watch a video ? At this time it shows cpu at 2 % and memory at 682 mb . Maybe I still need that other half gig of memory.:(

1.5GB isn't bad. An alternative to try is a 4GB flash drive suitable for readyboost use, but that's usually not helpful with over a GB of RAM. Maybe you should clean up the machine with ATF-Cleaner.exe or do ir manually with the cleaner as a guide.

Of course, I'm assuming that you're free of malware, which can cause similar problems. Suggest you study our appropriate forums.

If it connects wirelessly to a router (it is not a wireless modem), you should be able use a cable between the laptop and the router, that will tell you if there is a problem in the wireless signal.

If the wireless system is 802.11b, it may not have the capacity to stream the signal.

Thanks Mattman , router is a 802.11g linksys with speed booster . I'll try a hardwired connection and see if the vid problem persists .:D

:) I THOUGHT about adding 802.11g, it is still only 54Mb/S and that is absolute maximum. See what happens with the hardwire.

    Luck
