[SIZE= "2"]I tried to create boot cd, so copied program from
    http://www.helpwithwindows.com/WindowsXP/winxp-sp2-bootcd.html
But while extracting files (4 times) I got following message
"Failed to copy some or all necessary files for Integrated Install
    Please check that:
1)No Network or copy error occurred during integration
2)The format of the destination directory is correct
The files to be integrated must reside in i386 and/or ia64 or nec98 directory
(i.e. for an i386 shares, if you typed "updates /s:c\cdshare ",the files must be in cdshare\i386 directory)

    About my pc
    OS: Win XP
    RAM: 1 GB
    Motherboard:ASUS A8N-VM
    Use:personal (Home)
    No network, only cable internet.

Can anybody please tell me why is this error happening and how could it be avoided. Is there any possible simple solution to create boot CD.

patilmukundraj - Welcome to the Board :)

I assume you are trying to create a slipstreamed bootable CD?

Is your XP CD a retail copy or an OEM? As noted in the article ....

    Hello patilmukundraj,

If you do have a OEM XP cd, try the procedure outlined in the link.

    http://vbdotnet.home.comcast.net/~vbdotnet/XP_SP2.htm

No reason why it wouldn't apply to XP generally and instructions for SP2 are included as well.

    Boot CD & Boot Options

    Hello charlesvar & PeteC,
I have only windows CD (not bootable). So I expect to have my own CD by use of Free Internet resources (programs and application) which are powerful in doing their own task. While formatting can remove Virus and Spyware and like.
Please suggest me Procedural guideline and programs that requires to be added to it.
I am facing another problem; even I set boot options to CD-ROM or Floppy drive and save them by using F10 key. The PC reboots and Windows starts without asking for CD or Floppy. How can I resolve this issue. May you please guide me regarding the same.

    Mukundraj Patil.

I'm busy right now and will respond later to your first question - unless Charles comes back first, but in answer to ....
Windows will not ask for the floppy or CD, but the BIOS will look and see if there is a bootable CD present in the drive; if there is it will either boot from the CD or you will see a message 'Press any key to boot from CD'. If you have a non bootable floppy in the drive the boot will stop with the message 'Non System Disk'. If the floppy is bootable it will boot from it.

If there are no disks in the drives you will see nothing and Windows will boot as normal.

If you don't have an XP cd, those instructions on slipstreaming that you linked to in your 1st post does not apply to your situation.

I don't know what you have - don't know what a non bootable windows cd is, but from your 1st post and this one, I would say you need an XP CD - which contains the OS and is bootable.
Not clear on what you have in mind. You can get a boot disc here http://www.bootdisk.com/ That just allows you to boot into the OS that's installed on the hard drive or to format the partition.

If you format, you wipe the Partition of everything, including the OS.

We need some straight answers before we can take this further. All genuine Windows XP installation CD's are bootable so please tell us where your XP CD came from ....

Was it supplied with the computer and if this is the case is it labelled Recovery Disk or similar?

Was it bought in a store either as a full retail copy or as an upgrade?

You can check if your Windows XP installation is genuine here ...

    Genuine Microsoft Software

On the other hand is it a pirated copy of an installation CD or was it downloaded from the Internet? In both of these cases the CD you have is totally illegal and we are unable to help you further.

You may not be aware that WindowsBBS is a Microsoft Community website and as such we cannot assist in any problems associated with illegal software - from Microsoft or any other software company.
