I might be mistaken (and I usually am in relation to Nutscrape matters!) but I seem to recall reading that Nutscrape does not have the ability to request a return receipt.

Recall from my memory, that feature was not available in Netscape 6.xx Mail. It is available in Netscape 7 Mail.
HOWEVER, Return Receipt also requires the receiver agree to return (send) you the receipt.

Thanks for the help- it is a feature on 4.7x. Seems strange that they'd get rid of a feature on the upgrade.

On 4.7x you can get a receipt as soon as the recipient's server gets the email. So you can prove to the recepient that you really did send them an email at a particular time, if necessary.

Netscape 6.x was built on unfinished Mozilla Code. All the features were not implemented yet. 7.0 is built on the Mozilla 1.0 code with all the features finished.

And receipt acknowledgements are handled differently now. The user has control over whether they disable all receipts, being asked if they want to return the receipt or with some advenced settings to always return a receipt.
