Windows Vista Vista KB941833 Update

Hi,

All of the October updates were installed except for KB941833 XML Core Services 4.0 SP2. It appears there may be issues after this is installed. Has anyone experienced any difficulties with this update?

Any help will be appreciated.

 

I have two Vista machines and updated both with the mentioned Core Service Update. No problems on either.

May I suggest you uninstall the update, reboot and install it again. It might work OK then again it might not and for what reason I don't know. It seems to be worth the effort to try.

Glad to know that it did not cause problems for you. I will attempt to install it after I create an image, just to be sure.

I am surprised that there was not more input regarding this.

 

If it doesn't go well this time when you install, please repost on the forum with the results. There are people here that can help.

It's not a critical update and the advisory is that this update resolves a potential problem stemming from the critical update 936181. So if no problem, the less inclination to install an Update.

And not everyone has MSXML 4.0 versions.

I have version 6.

 

Tubby - As you will see from reading on, I am taking the easy way out. I decided not to install this update.

charlesvar - I am taking your advice and passing on this update. I do not see any problems since I installed the previous XML update so I'll leave well enough alone. My hubby will shout out if something is amiss.

I have D/L the update and have it saved alongside my notes in case it is needed.
