Yesterday my XP Pro installation at home locked up. Upon restarting I get the XP login screen. The only account is Administrator. When I click on administrator I quickly get a BSOD. Sometimes I see the desktop for a few seconds - usually not.

MemTest didn't find any memory problems.
    Safe Mode runs OK.

There are no system restore points or I'd try going back to one.

I managed to get the Minidump folder onto another computer using a bootable CD & memory stick. Below is the output from debugwiz

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Dan

    KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M (1000008e)
This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints
the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address
as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address.
Some common problems are exception code 0x80000003. This means a hard
coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but this system was booted
/NODEBUG. This is not supposed to happen as developers should never have
hardcoded breakpoints in retail code, but ...
If this happens, make sure a debugger gets connected, and the
system is booted /DEBUG. This will let us see why this breakpoint is
    happening.
    Arguments:
Arg1: c0000005, The exception code that was not handled
Arg2: 806354df, The address that the exception occurred at
    Arg3: f7a6996c, Trap Frame

Another thought along with that, when you get to the desktop, the antivirus will want to start checking files. Look at disabling the antivirus or other checking programs (antispyware, etc) in Safe Mode. You may want to go to msconfig (enter it in Start -> Run) and disable the startup programs, that may at least get you going again in normal mode.
