We have a windows 2000 server based system that has a number of GPO's which we use to specify security settings, desktop icons etc.

I want to implement a solution that will allow us to deploy (assign) software to users so that it installs when they log on.

I dont want it to be network wide - just for specific users so that if someone asks for some software to be installed etc we can just use the GPO for that individual.

Does anyone else have a system like this?

The easiest way to deploy the software to certain users as they logon is to create a new OU for computers. Place the computers that you want to deploy software to into the OU then apply a GPO to that OU.
