Minor anomaly w/EpsonPrintMate Photo Printer vs WIN XP... just installed brand new ink cartridge... checked 'ink status' & get: 'full' on Epson display; ~'1/2 full' using WIN Printer Status... any suggestions? compatibility problem? Tx

The Windows method of reading the sensor may be a general type that tries to read sensors from every brand. Epsom might have a slightly different reading method and works correctly when you use the Epsom software.

Windows tries to have drivers and programs that will work with all the hardware, but it needs to be "general ". When you come to specific hardware, the software that works 100% (maybe :) ) is that which you get from the hardware manufacturer.

Higher level drivers? Investigate updates for the motherboard/chipset drivers...which should also include updates for the USB Controller drivers that I would suspect the printer runs through.

Let us know how you go, BUT, holding my breath, I will leave that up to you.
