When I try to Query the Catalog under Indexing Service>System, I get the response, "No Catalog ". I have been using this facility for a long time ... and all of a sudden, no catalog. In the Directories the volume is identified and there is a Yes under Include in Catalog. I also requested a full rescan of the partition. ???

Indexing Service is one I do not use and turn off immediately after making a fresh install - I know where my files are :)

However, no hits on Google bar this thread, but I did pick up from related threads that the catalogue may be corrupted - sounds feasible if you have been using it for years and it suddenly went AWOL.

Can you delete the catalogue and create a new one? ....

How to create and configure a catalog for indexing - applies to XP Pro.

I deleted the System catalog and created a new one. It wouldn't let me put it in System Volume Informationso I put it in System Volume Information2. Started the cataloging 5 hours ago. Just tried to query it and got the same response "There is no catalog ".
