Reverting back to Welcome window

    After I leave my computer, my screensaver comes on like it should, but then after a short time my computer shuts down back to the welcome window. How do I stop this!

    Display Properties->Screen Save tab ->remove the check mark "password protected "

    Did that and all it says is "on resume, display Welcome screen ". It is Not checked and has not ever been so. Thanks

    Power Options Properties are as follows:
    Power Schemes Tab
    Schemes: Always on
    Settings:
    Monitor: after 1 hr
    hard disks: never
    sys standby: never
    sys hibernates: never
    --------
    Hibernate Tab
    Hibernate: enable is checked

    Did you look on the advanced tab of the Power Options?

    The advanced tab in Power Options Properties are:
    checked--Always show icon
    unchecked--Prompt for password
    ----------
    Power buttons:
    When I Press the power button on my computer:
    set at: shut down

    My computer continues to revert back to the welcome screen. Is there anything else I can do or check to make this stop?

    Try turning off the screen saver and see what happens...

    Any chance the pc is rebooting?

    I will do that. I don't know if it is rebooting since I am not usually near my computer when this happens. I will try to take notice.

    If it still continues to do this after I turn off the screen saver, any more suggestions on what I should do? Thanks again.

    OK!! It made it thru the nite without switching back to the welcome screen. I did turn off the screen saver.
    What would cause the screen saver to do this?

    Hi, well it did it again with the screensaver off ( "none" chosen). It took it a long while though and of course it did it when I wasn't around so I don't know if it is rebooting or not.
    I am concerned if this will harm my pc and I just don't know how to remedy it.
