Need Help~! Have upgraded Win2k pro to SP3, now when I log in as User I can't run Microsoft Publisher... It launches the w2k installer and wants to reinstall publisher. Why is this happening? I log back on as admin and the program works fine. Doesn't launch the installer, it just runs the program without a hitch... :( Please help...

Check security on the file & folder. Make sure "user" has rights to run the .exe and to use dlls and such.

It was working before the upgrade... tried uninstalling the upgrade... still doesn't work... set security to Power User... Still doesn't Run.. keeps running the Installer... then when I put the disk in, the application runs. This is a problem...

A quick fix without spending a bunch of time looking for the cause would be to use runas in the shortcut and pick administrator or some other user who can run the app.

    Detailed HOW-TO Here

I think Sp3 probably installs the version 2 of the 'Installer'. It screws up Mcafee version 5.21 antivirus also. Had to upgrade it to Norton 2002 as 2001 wouldn't check Office XP mail. Upgrades are great!
    Have fun.
