    IE 6.0
    WinXP
DSL-connected and running fine..can get email NOW and do other things..but all of a sudden every address I put into IE adds to it and does NOT go to address, this:
    http:///? www.
I had just did SYSTEM RESTORE POINT from NOW which was working find, restarted, then can get NO WEB SITES in IE..tried changing Security Level from MED to Med-LOW
still can't get it..all connections working except IE
    Error:
    The page cannot be displayed
The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings.

ALL pages unavail? I don't think so..why does it add that ?%20 to my address? why does it not go if all else is working?

Not having used IE 6 I'm not sure if this is related but a funny thing hapened during my Google search. I ran a search for "Address bar http:///? www" and came up with this...
    Information Available
    Where
    Price

    Statement of National Trade Policy
    Department's Internet site
    (address: http:// www.entemp.ie/)
    Government Publications Sales Offices,
    Sun Alliance House,
    Molesworth Street,
    Dublin 2.

Maybe checking your "country" or "language" settings will help.

    Hiya

    Lets clean out the TIF.

Go to Tools | Internet Options. Under Delete Files, delete Offline Content.

Also, go to History and empty that.

Now, go to Find Files and type in cookies
The location is sometimes different on different PC's, but it may be c:\windows\cookies.

Anyway, empty the cookie folder. You will have to re-enter your passwords. Empty the Recycle bin.

Also, if this still dosen't work, do a search for wsock32.dll How many have you got?

Plus, you may want to run a scan:

    http://housecall.antivirus.com/housecall/start_corp.asp

Also, go here and downlaod AddAware www.lavasoftusa.com
Install and run, enuring that Deep Registry Scan is enabled. Remove all except any references to Web3000 or new.net. If you're unsure, copy/paste the list here.

Whilst you're there, download and Install Refudate for the latest updates.

    Regards

    eddie
