What do you mean by "small link "? Can you post the URL's for a few of the pages with which you are experiencing problems?

    Oh Boy

Thanks Brett for the reply to my mail. This is happening with any page that I am on. For instance, when I recieved the email from windowsbbs telling me that you replied to my post, when I clicked on the link it did not respond. I had to hit the "E" to open IE and type in the URL to get here. Now like if I clicked on any of the BBS links in blue, I can get to those, but the ones in black i.e. user cp, calendar, members, etc. they will not respond no matter how many times I try to click them. This software biz is a trip. But if you have any ideas on this situation, please reply. And if i didn't mention, I just upgraded to Win XP Pro., love the software and hoping it's having nothing to do with it. "GOD SPEED "

    Links. . .

Hi rev son. . . and a belated welcome to the boards ! :)

You are obviously a Reverend's son - and that won't make you bad around here. But. . . are you sure that you want to take Brett's advice, especially with his signature of; I prefer to think of them as the Ten Suggestions.? Just kiddin', Brett !! (he-he) ;)

Back to your links deal, rev son. If a link shows up as something like this, it is probably a valid link to something, somewhere. (This one isn't, by the way!) If you see something like this it is only text that is underlined for emphasis.

Another way to tell a real link from something that isn't a link is this: If your your cursor (arrow) turns into a hand with a pointing finger, it is truly a link to something that you are on to. If it becomes something like a very small, thin I-beam, it is merely text and you can click on it 'til your mouse button wears out and it won't take you anywhere but to a computer store for a new one. :(

I HTH without making you feel like a dummy. I know the "dummy" feeling because I hold the SW Missouri Regional Dummy Distributorship.

Think :D happy :D thoughts !! :D :D and in the words of Red Skelton - "May God bless. "

    Mike

    (Edit - I originally mis-quoted Brett's "sig ". Sorry !!)

    thanks Indutch

well thanks for your info on the web page problem indutch, but that was some info that I already knew. I really appreciate the respond and yes your right, I am a son of a Pastor, for I am also a Minister.:) the info that was given to me by Brett was percise to a certain point because I could click on things that I couldn't before and the only thing now that I can't really click on is when I recieve email with an URL link. Like the one that Windowsbbs sent me to let me know you responded. the link that's in there would take me right to the page where you replied. I click it and it acts like it wants to go but never does. I dunno, could be that incredimail i have that's causing all the ruckus. Because it also does that with any link in the email, and some web pages.
God Bless you and I hope to hear from you soon.

    Praying For you,
    rev_son

You should repair your IE installation (Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs>Internet Explorer>click Add/Remove button and select Repair Installation). Also make sure that your JavaScript is enabled in your Advanced Internet options.

    Oh Shawdow hawk

Thanks for the info that you sent and God Bless you, I have just a couple of questions I'd like to ask.
I run Win XP Pro and in the IE tools>Advanced, it has the following:
    Microsoft VM
    Java Console Enabled (require restart)
    Java Logging
JIT complier for virtual machine Enabled (require restat)

Do I enable all of these or what? Or do I just do a couple and which ones if so? Getting ready to repair in the add/remove like you said and see if we can gain anything there. Please reply soon.

    Let Go,...And Let God........

    Blessings,
    rev_son

From my PC, if the email is plain text, I have underlined links but they don't launch a browser window. RTF usually doesn't either. The same post formatted HTML will do so nicely.

Let me ask a Stupid question.

Since I gather that all links are now working except those in email... let me ask this.

Has the link "line wrapped" - in AOL and yahoo mail if a link wraps to the next line due to length only the content of the tope line is seen as a link - and it won't take you where you need to go.

I may be off the wall, I've been filling excel fields all day and my attention span is shot, so if I overlooked something, please forgive.

    No dice again......

    Profgab101,
The only thing I can tell you is this, when I use to click on the same type of links,...they worked and I had no problem. But since I've installed Win XP Pro., I have that problem. I don't know if it's in the settings or what. But I know they did work. But thanks for the info and I will apply that later on if I ever run across that situation. Now I'm dealing with I guess Java Scripts.
I can tell you this much, if I highlight the link and "copy" then paste in the url address and press go it works just fine. Just wish I knew more to get it fixed.
Thank you very much for your info and your time, may your days be counted as Blessed.
    A True
    luvrofgod.
