When I turn on my computer with XP Home, I would like it to come up with my desktop. I am the only user at home and don't need to sign in. It does not ask for a password but I must click on the icon over my name.
If I don't, my startup folder will not run and after clicking my icon, I must sit and wait for all the startups. I would rather walk away and come back in 5 minutes after turning on the power.

    :(

I used the phrase "control userpasswords2" and followed the instructions.

When the computer rebooted, I did not have to click on any icon to fully boot
BUT I had lost my entire desktop.

    Recovered it all with RESTORE.

    Install TweakUI for XP, then:
Open TweakUI (Click Start, Programs, Powertoys for Windows XP). Expand the Logon branch, and click Autologon. Turn on the "Log on automatically at......" option, type your username and password, and click Ok.
