Couple of days ago I installed Kodak Easy Share then determined that iot was not what I wanted and uninstalled it from Control Panel Add Remove option.

Now when I boot up I get the following error message - "Error loading
    C:\DOCUMEN~1\ALLUSE~1.WIN\APPLIC~1\Kodak\EasyShareSetup\$REGIS~1\Registration_7.4.30.2.sxt

The specified module could not be found" At top of the small window where this dialog appears is RUNDLL and the message is preceeded by a Large Red X.

I have removed every instance where any reference to this program apperars, including My Documents. How do I get rid of this error message?

    Here is HiJackThis log

Somewhere something is telling Windows to load an EasyShare component. Since EasyShare was uninstalled, Windows can't load it. That reference should have been uninstalled with EasyShare but obviously wasn't.

The two usual places to look for something like that is, first, on the Start Menu, Startup folder. If there's any reference to EasyShare there, delete it.

If there's nothing in the Startup folder or if there was, you deleted it but the problem continues, go to Start>Run, type "msconfig" (without the quotes), click OK.

In msconfig, go to the Startup tab and look for any references to Kodak EasyShare. Uncheck any you find, click OK.

    startup problems

There is nothing in msconfig. I have used run/search and ddeleted every reference to Kodak or Kodak Easy Share or East SAre it found. went into registry and deleted any such references I found there. I went into My Computer/My Documents and deleted every reference, I went in to My Computer/My Documents and Settings and into Application Data and deleted every reference I could find.

In short I have cleansed my computer of any and every reference I can find to the language in this error message message but still it appears.I can close the dialog box containing thde error message and the computer goers ahead and loads.

Perhaps I should query Kodak and see what kind of response I get?

    Thanks, Miz, for the response.

Well I thought of one other thing. I have a program called RegSeekerhioch I had used for a regisgtry search for this pest and that program always makes a backup when deleting anything. I went looking there and bingo, there was the entry, I deleted it and problem solved.

    Thanks to all.

Thanks McTavish, I downloaded the program anyway, thought it might be enlightening.

Hi Ricky, I have the same problem. Is it possible that I might get a copy of that program you mentioned, "RegSeekerhioch "? I searched the web for it and cannot locate it anywhere.

    Sincerely, Ron

Rondroid, I responded to you by e-mail but I have to say the term I mentioned should have been simply RegSeeker - I have no clue as to where
the hioch came from and I never noticed it til now.

    My bad.

I thought that was a rather strange name. I tried RegSeeker but to no avail & the only registry entries were in HK Classes Root which typiycally deal with filetype associations. Anyhow I did figure out the problem after re-installing the software. The RUNDLL error says it can't find this file:
    Registration_7.4.30.2.sxt

But when I looked in the location for that file I found this file:
    Registration_7.5.30.2.sxt

There is one number different than the one called upon by Windows. So I changed the name of the file, rebooted, goofed around with the software and then un-installed it.

    That was that :)

Apparently an example of bad coding from the developers of that program.

Thanks again for your help and I'll try and see if I can return the favor to others here.

    Ron ;)
