I have a 'AMD K6 3D' computer. I installed or upgraded to Windows XP. I need a base set of Windows 95 floppies install images; My computer is not fast enough for WINXP and they do not sell WIN95 anymore; If you have a copy of the floppies install for WIN95 please contact me via email at Removed by Moderator for your security against spam or reply to my post here.

interiq - Welcome to the Board :)

Would not Win 98 be more appropriate? - if you installed XP you presumably have a CD-ROM drive?

    Have you tried Ebay?

    Hello,

Thanks to your reply. I'm not sure if Windows 98 would be better or not; Do you think it is better for my AMD; Does Windows 98 work better on this speed of computer? I do have a CD-ROM drive. I don't have any money to buy from Ebay.

    Kindest Regards
    Interiq

Win 98 SE should be fine and a much better choice than Win 95.

I found a copy of Windows 95 and 98; They are ISO images for a CD Rom. I need to put them on floppy diskettes. Do you know how to create a floppy disk install from the iso image?

I am reasonably certain that this is not possible.

You will need to burn the iso image file to a CD and install from there. The usual option in burning software is Burn Image (Nero 7 Recorder > Burn Image) which produces a bootable CD. Set the boot order in bios on the computer to CD-ROM > Floppy > Hard drive and boot from the CD you burned.

If you do not have a CD burner your only option is to find a friend who has.

ISO files cannot be put onto a floppy, they are images of a CD, or like all the files put into one file, but not zipped.
Each of the CAB files on these CD's cannot fit on a 1.44 floppy.
The old Win95 floppies were formatted different, where 1.6 mb was fit onto a normally sized 1.44 floppy. Not worth the effort to recreate this process.
I am just taking a guess here, maybe you need a floppy to get the system started so you can install windows?
    Go to Bootdisk.
Download the file for Win 98SE OEM.
Put a floppy into the drive and run the downloaded file. It will now create a boot floppy for you.
This boot floppy will get the CD drive working for you, enough to install 95 or 98.
The Win95 download will not get the CD drive working.
