Okay so I got a new Logitech laser mouse to replace my old rolling ball one. I have a few problems with it though. I always leave my computer on stand by, and to take it off that, all I had to do was move the mouse the slightest bit. But this new mouse doesn't do that. Instead I have to open up my keyboard drawer, pull the keyboard out, and press a button just to get it started up. Also, I use Firefox, and constantly use tabbed browsing. The wheel button is very convenient for this because if you click a link with it, the link opens up in a new tab. (It might do this with other browsers.) Unfortunately, it doesn't do that with this mouse. In order to open a link in a new tab, I have to right click the link and click "Open in New Tab" on the pop up menu, which takes too long to load. (For me at least.) I've tried going to my mouse settings in my control panel, but that doesn't seem to help at all. I can cope with these inconveniencies, but I would really appreciate if someone can help me find a way to configure my mouse or something.

I guess this sounds rather obvious, but you have installed the Logitec mouse software and configured the buttons/scroll wheel? I can't speak for Logitec, but all that works fine in MS Intellipoint software with MS mice. Settinfg the scroll wheel button to middle click opens in a new tab in IE 7.

Yeah, I have it set to scroll, and I actually just tried using IE 7 with it. Tabbed browsing apparently works fine in IE with the wheel button, but for some reason, it doesn't work in Firefox. So maybe Firefox is the problem, but I can't find any settings for tabbed browsing anywhere.
