A friend of mine brought over a DVD from his church and he wanted to make a copy for himself. I didn't have the software on my system but I do have a recordable DVD player. Since I had to find the software, I copied the DVD contents to my hard drive and thought I would make it for him after I loaded the software. Well I did find the OEM version of Nero 6 and loaded it and updated it as best as I could.

But now when I tried to copy the two folders to the DVD it said there isn't enough room on the DVD. The DVD-R says it is 16x (2 hr.).

My question is that I would like to know how I can copy these folders to one or two DVDs even though originally the folders came from his one DVD.

The contents of the folders on my hard drive are:
AUDIO_TS (0 KB) IN THIS FOLDER
VIDEO_TS has the following files in it:

    VIDEO_TS.BUP
    VIDEO_TS.IFO
    VTS_02_0.BUP
    VTS_02_0.IFO
    VTS_03_0.BUP
    VTS_03_0.IFO
    VTS_01_0.BUP
    VTS_01_0.IFO
    VIDEO_TS.VOB
    VTS_02_0.VOB
    VTS_03_0.VOB
    VTS_01_0.VOB
    VTS_02_2.VOB
    VTS_01_2.VOB
    VTS_03_2.VOB
    VTS_01_1.VOB
    VTS_02_1.VOB
    VTS_03_1.VOB

Any help to make a DVD of these folders and files will be appreciated.

    Jean

I recommend DVD Shrink. You can re-author with it, removing unwanted sub-titles, languages, extras, set start/stop frames, etc. You can set it to automatically burn with Nero when it's done re-authoring too.

Does your OEM version 6 of Nero have Nero Recode?
If yes, load program, will display a menu screen with selection. Select Recode an Entire DVD to DVD.
For additional guidance, download User Guide for Nero Recode 2

Noahdfear suggestion for DVD Shrink is an excellent choice if you do NOT have Nero Recode available.
The author for DVD Shrink discontinued further development (due to DRM issues, his program is excellent) and now works for Nero.

I don't get something here...What is the total size of all files on your friend DVD?
Any DVD will take 4.7 GB of data.
If you have a DVD burner, Windows will make a copy for you. What OS are you on?

Thank you for the quick replies and help. I'll try to answer each of you in this note.
noahdfear - I did download DVD Shrink. I'm not sure if I did it exactly right but I managed to get a copy. I didn't burn it through Nero but just through the DVD Shrink program myself. I'll take the DVD over to my friend's house and see if this is acceptable with him. It does seem to play OK on my computer. (I didn't understand what you meant about re-authoring but I guess I will have to read more about it to understand the program.)

Dennis L - My OEM version of Nero did not have the Nero Recode so I couldn't use that at all. I didn't understand the idea that DVD shrink works with Nero.

broni - I don't know the total size of all the files on my friend's DVD and I won't find out as I deleted his files that I had on my computer because they were so large and my recycle bin wouldn't even accept them. I had to delete them and bypass the recycle bin.

Yes, I do have a DVD burner but I just don't know how I can made a copy using the Windows program itself. Can you direct me to someplace that will show me. I am using Windows XP. I know I can copy a CD using the Windows program but didn't realize I could copy a DVD.

Thank you all for your excellent help and suggestions.

Hmmm...then you can't record DVDs using Windows. It comes only in Vista. Sorry.
