Periodically and sporadically when trying to view video from a website such as cnn.com for example. The video display is inverted and I think mirror imaged. I have tried various maneuvers to correct this all without success. I do have WMP v 11.0.5721.5145 installed and I am assuming that this is the default video player for video from websites. Has anyone else seen this? I couldn't find this term referenced in this forum. I appreciate any help that might be available. Thanks.

Thank you for your reply. I am running SP2 and tried the alt, crtl, up arrow key strokes without success. The display starts correctly oriented then snaps inverted and mirrored. I will look further into the MS hotfix you have referenced and post back here on how that works. Thanks again. Still:confused:

    inverted video display

I read the microsoft caveat and I think I will wait a while to try this "hotfix ". They say it has not been tested with other hotfixes, etc, etc. I will wait and simply not watch the videos. Thanks again. Jack :)

Since you’re updated to SP2 the hotfix should be there.
Only other things can think of:
-Make sure video drivers are updated.
-Try increasing screen resolution. That might not be acceptable since icons and everything else will get smaller but it’s a good test.
-Have a mirror handy to watch videos, sorry "“ couldn’t resist that.
    :(

If find anything else will post back.
BTW - what make model of monitor are you using?
I've had problems with several Sony LCD monitors when installed their optional software package.

    inverted video display

Well, I knew that was coming, :) In fact I had even thought of that, but decided the video stuff wasn't all that good.

As you can imagine, the commercials play just fine.

I am using a Toshiba laptop with 2gb Ram. The machine is about three or four years old. I have tried to update the driver for the video from Toshiba, but they don't seem to offer and update. It is a Trident CyberALADDiN-P4 v6.4612.22ICD_SE_NP

So for now I have changed the resolution to much larger, with larger text and all that. It looks OK for now. Will just sort of wait till the new SP comes out. This just started occurring in the past couple of weeks. I can cope, but it is an interesting tech problem that I would sort of like to solve. Thanks for your interest. If you find anything, post up, I am on "immediate notification" on this thread. Thanks again.:)
